Landscape: Voyage

March 7 - May 16, 2009

On March 7, KMR Arts opens it latest exhibit, “Landscape: Voyage” which will include works by Erich Angenendt, Machiel Botman, Harry Callahan, Paul Caponigro, Ashley Bell Clark, John Dugdale, Lisa Elmaleh, Chip Hooper, Michael Kenna, Eric Lindbloom, Marcia Lippman, Richard Mazer, Len Prince, Philip Reeser, and Brett Weston. As McCarver Root says, “The landscape is a subject which has fascinated photographers from the birth of the medium. Landscape: Voyage presents a variety of interpretations of this subject, both in vintage and contemporary photographs.”

KMR Arts will also showcase a highlight exhibition of photographs by Stanley Greenberg (b.1956). Stanley Greenberg’s work is an investigation of sites often inaccessible to the people they serve. His photographs make us wonder at the extraordinary places that most of us are unaware of and the evolution of technology required to create them. They remind us of how much public space, and the knowledge of it, is now kept from us. This work exists both as evidence of our ability to construct a metropolis and as sculptural imagery of mysterious places.

"The real voyage of discovery consists not in seeking new landscapes, but in having new eyes." Marcel Proust, Remembrance of Things Past, 1934
