KMR Arts: Invites All Litchfield County Children to Photograph Their Backyard for Display in Washington Depot GalleryJuly 17, 2008—"My Backyard" will be a show of submitted work by any Litchfield County child who is inspired to photograph and then submit an image of their backyard to the acclaimed photography gallery KMR Arts. "It will be so exciting to give our future photographers the forum in which to showcase their unique points of view," says owner Kathy McCarver Root, who asks that children aged 3 to 18 years submit their framed work to the gallery, by August 18th. KMR Arts will accept one entry per person, of any size up to 8 x 10 inches. All work will be displayed in KMR Arts Gallery, Saturday, August 23 from 11 am to 5 pm, with a special reception from 2 to 4pm. All photographs will be for sale and proceeds will help fund a photography scholarship for local arts non-profit After School Arts Program. KMR Arts is a fine art gallery that specializes in photography. Appealing to both the established collector and the first time buyer, KMR Arts continues to present primarily thematic group shows to create an atmosphere that is warm, inviting, surprising and smart. The After School Arts Program is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing artistic opportunities for children, adults, and members of the general public through educational workshops, events, and field trips with professional artists and arts organizations.
