Ladies and Gentlemen

December 6, 2008 – February 28, 2009

The exhibition, “Ladies and Gentlemen”, opens December 6 through February 28, 2009.

“Ladies and Gentlemen” includes work by Louise Dahl Wolfe, Georges Dambier, Burt Glinn, Pamela Hanson, Saul Leiter, Marcia Lippman, Jean Moral, Arnold Newman, Irving Penn, and Bill Ray. “Ladies and Gentlemen” contains both vintage and contemporary photographs. As McCarver Root says, “Ladies and Gentlemen” will exhibit numerous examples of personalities and stylish moments captured by iconic photographers, a perfect way to set the mood for the holiday season.”

KMR Arts will showcase a highlight exhibition of photographs by Arthur S. Aubry (b. 1960). Photographing in and around the Pacific Northwest, Arthur S. Aubry’s color photographs are both expressions of abstraction and documents of a transformed reality. Aubry combines the modernist tradition of geometric abstraction with a sense of 19th century exploration, engaging in the discovery of hidden subjects. Aubry’s work urges us to look closer and seek out the beauty that lies obscured all around us.

"Good manners are a combination of intelligence, education, taste and style so that you don’t need any of those things.” - P.J. O’Rourke, Modern Manners, 1984
