April 11 - May 30, 2026
KMR Arts is proud to present Lauren Booth: Flower Energy. Please join us for the opening reception with the artist on Saturday, April 11, 2026, from 2 – 6 pm. This is Booth's first solo show with KMR Arts.
Lauren Booth works across sculpture, light and mixed media, moving between materials such as resin, steel, neon and bronze. Each body of work begins with an idea or concept and the materials follow. Flower Energy has roots in quantum physics, arte povera, and absurdist art. Booth first became enamored with the hydrogen wave function in the mid-1990’s while reading The Tao of Physics.
Booth describes the body of work in Flower Energy:
“The symmetrical orbitals created by the probability patterns of electrons overlayed with Eastern mysticism captivated me and have stuck with me over the years. For Flower Energy, I leaned into these patterns, which look like petals, drawing on the different orbital clouds and exploring colors and energy. Alongside these works are a series of ‘flower portraits’ which developed over time in my studio as bent nails turned onto smiles and broken tacks became eyes. I like the contrast of the two bodies of work together. At times life and art can feel absurd or meaningless, on the other hand, there’s something going on. There’s something that both scientists and sages agree on, some underlying mystery. This is represented by the physics of hydrogen wave function and finding non-duality and beauty even at the most fundamental invisible underpinnings of reality. The work in Flower Energy is rooted in the interplay of these thoughts and ideas.”
“In something that is nothingness there is beautiful symmetry.” -Lauren Booth
“Lauren Booth’s work is a symbiotic combination of the spiritual and the logical process of quantum physics. I am fascinated by her combination of humble materials with scientific laws which yields work that is both joyful and intelligent.” -Kathy McCarver
